Muslim Scout Camp: A Life-Changing Experience for Orphans

As part of Kuramaa’s Widows and Orphans Care & Empowerment Program, 50 Syrian orphaned children took part in a transformative Muslim Scout Camp organized in collaboration with the Muslim Scout Troop. Over several days, the children engaged in structured activities that combined fun, discipline, and learning—fostering leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence in a safe and natural setting.

Activities: Learning Through Adventure

Tent Setup and Outdoor Living

Living in nature was a key part of the experience. The children learned how to set up tents and live in an open environment—developing self-reliance, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Nature Walks and Team Games

Scouts participated in guided nature hikes that promoted exploration and environmental awareness. In addition, they engaged in team-building games that strengthened collaboration, communication, and leadership among the children.

Skill-Building Workshops and Spiritual Sessions

The camp included practical skill workshops in areas like basic first aid, time management, and daily planning. Children also attended spiritual and ethical sessions, which reinforced values like discipline, respect, and community responsibility.

Objectives: Building Confidence and Character

Fostering Leadership and Independence

By giving each child a role and responsibilities during the camp, the experience promoted independent thinking and nurtured a sense of leadership. Children were encouraged to take initiative, make decisions, and support one another.

Boosting Self-Confidence

Facing new challenges in a safe environment allowed the children to overcome fears and discover inner strengths. Their achievements, even small ones, built a deeper sense of confidence and self-worth.

A Supportive and Safe Environment

All activities were supervised by trained educators and scout leaders, ensuring that every child felt safe, supported, and encouraged to participate and grow socially and emotionally.

Empowering Orphans for the Future
