In a world where opportunities are not equally distributed, Kuramaa is committed to equipping orphaned and displaced children with practical skills that can open real doors. As part of its youth empowerment programs, Kuramaa organized a mobile phone maintenance training course for 8 orphaned teenage boys.
The course aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of smartphone repair in a safe and engaging learning environment, helping them build skills that could one day become a profession or small business.
Why Mobile Maintenance?
Today, smartphones are a necessity, and with their widespread use comes a growing demand for repair services, especially in refugee and low-income communities where replacing a damaged phone is rarely an option.
Teaching orphaned youth how to diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile phones gives them a real skill they can use to support themselves and their families. At Kuramaa, we believe this kind of training is a form of dignified aid—it doesn’t just help for a day, it builds a path toward long-term independence.
What the Course Covered
Led by experienced instructors, the course was designed to be simple, practical, and hands-on. It included key topics such as:
-
Introduction to smartphone components
-
Diagnosing common hardware and software issues
