In moments of pain and disaster, the true meaning of humanitarian solidarity comes to light. Following the devastating earthquake in northwest Syria, Kuramaa was among the first to respond. Through its Emergency Response Program, Kuramaa met the needs of nearly 500 affected families, distributing 500 food baskets as an urgent step to aid widows and orphans left without shelter or food. This article highlights the details of this humanitarian field effort and invites you to be part of the hope.
Urgent Humanitarian Response: Why Did Kuramaa Step In?
The earthquake that struck northwest Syria caused not only material destruction but also tore apart the sense of safety for thousands of families. Amid this suffering, Kuramaa affirmed that humanity is still alive—and that supporting those affected is an immediate duty.
Kuramaa acted because widows and orphans are the most vulnerable during disasters. The loss of a home means disrupted education, and the lack of food means psychological instability. That’s why Kuramaa’s response was both swift and impactful.

What Did Kuramaa Provide in Its Earthquake Response?
Direct support to 500 needy families
As part of its Emergency Response Program, Kuramaa launched a unique humanitarian campaign that included:
-
Distribution of 500 urgent food baskets
-
Direct targeting of 500 families in affected areas
-
Focus on families headed by widows or containing orphaned children
These numbers mean that thousands of individuals received daily meals at a time when aid was scarce.
Impact: Food and Hope Amid Collapse
In times of crisis, a single food basket can mean the difference between fear and safety. What may seem simple on the surface became a lifeline for mothers and children who had lost everything.
These food packages helped ease psychological burdens and restored a sense of security to grieving families. This is exactly what Kuramaa strives for in every intervention.

Field Testimonies from Kuramaa’s Earthquake Response: Aid That Reaches Where It’s Needed
As part of its urgent earthquake response, Kuramaa’s Widows and Orphans Care and Empowerment Program team traveled more than 300 kilometers to Jarabulus, on the Syrian-Turkish border. The journey took over seven hours to deliver emergency food aid to displaced families.
More than 150 food baskets were distributed to families evacuated from their destroyed homes and relocated to temporary shelters, in coordination with Sheikh Fares Salamon.
In an emotional address, Sheikh Fares Abdullah, member of the Shura Council for Displaced People from Homs, expressed deep gratitude for Kuramaa’s efforts, saying these aids “came like a balm to the wounds” and praying for blessings upon everyone who contributed to this humanitarian work.
These scenes are more than just food relief—they are living proof that Kuramaa is present on the ground, at the very moment when victims are left alone, sending a message of hope through its aid to every widowed mother and every orphaned child.
