Orphans and Widows Care & Empowerment Program in Neighboring Countries
Launched in December 2013, this flagship program is at the heart of Kuramaa’s efforts to support war-affected Syrian families. It provides comprehensive educational, psychological, and vocational services to the most vulnerable orphans and widows—both inside Syria and in neighboring countries.
The program transforms hardship into strength, and need into productivity.
The program is carried out through four centers located in:
Lebanon – Two centers in Tripoli
Jordan – One center in Amman
Turkey – One center in Antakya
325 orphaned children
125 widowed mothers
Total: 450 individuals receiving holistic care and support
The program delivers a range of integrated activities designed to nurture and empower both orphans and widows, including:
Recreational trips
Character building and etiquette
Sports and entertainment
Productive kitchen training
Sewing and wool crafts
Handicrafts and creative arts
Social, psychological, and health awareness sessions

We raise a generation rooted in Islamic values through ‘Ibad Al-Rahman Institute for Quran memorization and Islamic studies (licensed by the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs).
Children receive nurturing lessons in:

Intentions and sincerity
Daily behavior
All to shape a future generation of ethical, knowledgeable leaders.

We believe that mental and physical health are pillars of healthy growth. Our programs include:
Football, judo, swimming, and horseback riding
Outdoor scouting camps and hikes
Group activities to build teamwork, self-confidence, and discipline

We take learning beyond the classroom—every trip becomes a live lesson in interaction, exploration, and discovery, enriching young minds and inspiring a love of learning, nature, and community.

During school breaks, we offer developmental programs to build skills and creativity, such as:
Public speaking, acting, simplified science, and robotics
Scouting and self-reliance training
English courses with volunteers from the U.S. and Germany
Turkish conversation practice
Cultural and talent-based competitions

From training to production, widowed mothers master the art of:
Prayer garments and rugs
Table linens and decorative cloths
Uniforms for institutions
All crafted in fully equipped vocational sewing workshops.

Through advanced hands-on training, mothers create:
Beaded and hand-painted decorative artworks
Unique accessories for cars and stationery
Eco-friendly crafts using recycled materials

In our Lebanon centers, widowed mothers produced over 4,000 wool sweaters distributed to Syrian families in need—combining social support with economic empowerment.

Coping and resilience skills
Promoting emotional and social well-being
We empower mothers to become pillars of strength for their families and communities.

From skill to sustainability, trained mothers prepare:
Homemade, wholesome meals
High-quality traditional sweets and local dishes
This kitchen offers a stable income for widows while serving the community with trusted, locally made products.
